Abstract

In accord with article 26 SST, the most grave cases reserved to the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (in which the commission of the crime is manifestly established and the offender has been given the faculty to defend himself) can be referred to the Supreme Pontiff for dismissal or deposition from the clerical state. The objective proposed in this study was to delve into the main legal issues of the aforementioned canonical norm and to present all the stages of this penal procedure in order to make it known and understood in detail.
