In the Archdiocese of Strasbourg, since May 10th 2017, the SSPX brethren may validly and licitly celebrate their wedding before the priests of their community. The Strasbourg standards are based upon both the Ecclesia Dei Commission’s letter (March 27th 2017) interpreted in a broad sense and the pastoral practice adopted since 2015. The implementation of the statute (2017-2020) shows how the specific law can promote institutional unity.
