The essay briefly retraces the development of authoritative Canon law scholar Joaquín Llobell’s broad juridical reflection about the penal process and the right to due process. In addition to the Author’s depth of thought, refinement and sharpness, it reveals his ability to lucidly comprehend the needs that from time to time emerge from ecclesial reality, as well as his passionate desire to contribute to the bonum commune Ecclesiae.
