Abstract

In the modern age, church and state pursue an independent educational claim. The state ensures access to schools and universities, with the aim of educating responsible citizens. For the church, the establishment and operation of such institutions are in the service of her teaching function. In principle, the free constitutional state guarantees the freedom of church activities in the field of education. This paper outlines with which mechanisms the state-church law realizes and concretizes this freedom.
