This paper highlights the decisive importance of human rights in the international action of the Holy See, be it from the point of its religious mission to the service of the universal Church, or be it from the point of view of the affirmation of its international legal personality and of its multilateral activity. In addition, the consequences of international treaties on Church law are highlighted.
