Abstract

The subject of religious symbolism in the public places has laid emphasis on the great dispute on the idea of the State’s neutrality or laity in many Countries. During many years, it has been a cause of a big legal, historical and sociological controversy. Some western Countries, like Germany, Italy, French, United States and Austria, among many others, have disputed about the presence of a cross or others religious symbols in public Buildings. The solution of this dispute varies from State to State, conformably to the level of Secularism. We will expose the judicial evolution of this old but always present question.
