Christian Inspiration with Ecclesiastical Guarantees in the Context of a University: Agreements on Doctrinal and Moral Guarantees

Abstract

This article proposes a new approach to the teachings of John Paul II and Benedict XVI on the relationship that the Church is called to have with universities, seeking to identify its fundamental juridical profiles. From this analysis we study, always from a juridical point of view, the main elements of the role of doctrinal and moral guarantee which the ecclesiastical authority must have in Catholic Universities, and we explore other juridical models, contained in Canon Law, of ecclesiastical guarantee for universities.
